More Visitors to Your Website, You Say?"How do we get more visitors and traffic?" That's the million dollar question, really. We hear it a lot and do enjoy answering it.
The short answer is that it will take some work. The long answer is that it'll take more work. 🙂
Actually, there are some things that can be done to some websites to help them get traffic almost instantly. There are. How much traffic you will get and how effective these techniques are will entirely depend on how poorly the current website is set up. Basically, if it wasn't set up right, you're at a disadvantage. By fixing those things, you can get a boost in rankings and traffic. The hard part is, most people don't even know that their website was not set up the best way or what those things are.
Well, we've solved that problem for you. We've created a handy E-Book called Back to Basics: Increasing Web Traffic which lists 7 things that you can check to make sure that your website is set up correctly and ways to start getting some traffic and visitors to your website.
One of the things in the E-Book is that you should set up a blog. A blog is a tool to help you add content quickly. It works automatically in that it takes care of archiving old content for you and has commenting features as well. One more tip I will add is that if you can blog about a topic that is a hot topic or something that's somewhat controversial (there are 2 definite sides to the debate), then you could get people to start adding comments. When that happens, you've successfully creating a forum where your website visitors are creating content for you. That's a great place to be.
Once you can start looking at your website as a tool instead of just an online brochure that gets updated maybe once a year (like most websites out there), you've then seen the light. You will implement ways to capitalize on your small successes and just repeat them in bigger ways since you know what works.
This whole "Web" thing might not be a fad after all. 🙂
