I found a good resource today that explains how to secure WordPress and do things like clean up a compromise (hack) and so forth:
The WordPress Security Learning Center (wordfence.com)
We know our clients don’t have time to go through all of that – reading and understanding it. We get that but it’s a good idea for a small business owner to at least take a look at a few of those articles so that they understand what all goes into website security and maintaining a website.
Most business owners don’t realize all that goes in to keeping a website going until the day or hour that the website goes down or when a website gets compromised. By then, it’s too late. They didn’t do the maintenance and it broken down or the website dropped in rankings.
If you’re at that point and need help cleaning up your website, check out that website and look at what needs to be done. You can do it yourself or you can hire a company like Webstix to clean up your compromised website. We’ve done it a number of times and we know what to do. We can help you get your website up and running quickly!
